The historic Horseshoe Lights gold-copper mine and associated tenements are located approximately 800km north-northeast of Perth and 140km north of Meekatharra. The open cut was placed in care and maintenance in 1994 and exploration drilling is discovering high grade copper ore to the northwest and the south. Horseshoe Metals (ASX: HOR) is an Australian copper and gold focused exploration company with a package of tenements covering approximately 300km2 in a highly prospective region of Western Australia. The Company’s projects are the Horseshoe Lights Project and the Kumarina Project. The Horseshoe Lights Project includes the closed Horseshoe Lights Mine which produced over 300,000 oz of gold and over 54,000 tonnes of copper from 1946-1994. Horseshoe Lights is considered to be a Volcanic Hosted Massive Sulphide (VHMS) style deposit lying within the Narracoota Volcanics formation and is located 75km west-northwest of Sandfire Resources NL’s recent Doolgunna copper-gold deposit discovery.
