The Salt Mine at Lake MacLeod is managed by Rio Tinto Dampier Salt, the worlds largest exporter of solar salt and Dampier, Port Headland and Lake MacLeod produce 10 million Tonnes of Salt a year. The southern pert of the lake is mostly dry so I chose to exclude the default lake and model the whole section. The salt is laser cut to keep the basins flat then loaded into prime movers with trailers. Soil and Gypsum are washed from the harvested salt with saturated brine then stockpiled and allowed to drain. The dry salt is hauled to Cape Cuvier and again stockpiled into the loader. Ships at the deepwater port do not moor to the jetty but use six cables attached to moorings to maintain their position under the loader. The model includes the bare airfield, salt works, lake, haul road and port Cuvier.
